Iron Man is finally here tomorrow, but it’s already shaping up to be a gigantic success.
Studio expectations are playing the usual games. They’re downplaying the early estimates just in case, projecting a mere $75 million opening weekend. But analysts are already guessing somewhere close to or over $100 million.
Regardless of the potential box office numbers it has already started down the path of widespread critical acclaim.
The reviews on Rotten Tomatoes so far give it a 95%, an obviously overwhelmingly positive critical consensus. If it somehow manages to hover at that number after all the reviews pour in over the weekend, it will be the second highest rated film in theaters so far this year.
But one thing I wanted to remind you, sort of a public service announcement, is to stay after the credits. If you’re checking this movie out in theaters, sit back and relax through the scrolling names and check out the very short scene at the end.
I won’t give anything away, but I’ve included a bootleg YouTube clip after the jump and a description of the scene. Oh, and it’s obviously a spoiler, so… yeah.
“At the end of the credits, Stark comes home and finds Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in his living room -staring towards the window. He then turns to tell Stark he’s the not the only superhero in the world. Stark asks who he is, and Fury turns and says he’s “Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I’m here to talk to you about The Avengers Initiative”.
