According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jason Biggs and Lizzy Caplan have been added to the cast of Bachelor No. 2. The two supporting actors join leads Dane Cook and Kate Hudson in this conventional romantic comedy. I shuddered as I wrote “lead” and then “Dane Cook.”
I must have missed (or didn’t care) when Alec Baldwin was brought in to add the comedy to this comedy, but he’s in it too.
I already went off in June about the uncanny resemblance of this movie’s plot to another of Cook’s type-casted list of rom-coms, Good Luck Chuck. Cook, who has been accused of stealing jokes, is now borrowing Matthew McConaughey’s shtick.
This film tackles the age-old issue, “I love this girl, but she’s my friend’s chick, what do I do?” Tank (Cook) faces the ultimate test of friendship when his best friend (Biggs) hires him to take his ex-girlfriend (Hudson) out on a lousy date in order to make her realize how great her former boyfriend is. HILARIOUS!
Ok, I’m sure you’re on sarcasm overload, so I’ll leave you with this irony.
