It seems plenty has changed since we took a peek at an early draft of Men in Black III. The time travel device that effectively swaps Josh Brolin for Tommy Lee Jones in the sequel is still intact, but now Will Smith has only 24 hours to save his friend and return to the present day. The third act looks like it has been almost entirely revamped too, featuring a familiar invasion of high-flying alien vessels hovering over cityscapes. The production reportedly began without a finalized script, which led to an extended break for its pricey cast, so expectations are low. So far, Men in Black III looks like a cash grab with money to burn. (Bill Hader rules, though.)
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
