Paramount and DreamWorks have unleashed the first full trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third installment in the toy line-turned-blockbuster movie franchise. Attempting to outdo the bass note beats of the Inception promo, the new trailer cuts together a few clips of the Autobots and Decepticons assembling before all-out mayhem in the streets and skies of Chicago. Explosions! Transforming! More Explosions! Plus more shots of Shia LaBeouf running and close-ups of supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s pillowy lips.

When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, with John Malkovich and Frances McDormand.
Michael Bay has always been able to deliver exciting trailers. The real test will be when Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters on July 1, 2011.
