Weaver, Moranis Back for ‘Ghostbusters 3?’

GhostbustersSigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis are returning for Ghostbusters 3, according to recent rumors, finally reuniting the Gatekeeper and the Key Master!

Bloody-Disgusting has the inside info, which claims Moranis will come out of his 13-year retirement to appear in the series.  The once ubiquitous comedic actor left the business in 1997 after his wife’s unfortunate cancer death to take care of his children.  He declined an opportunity to do voice work with many of the cast on a new video game in 2008.

The rest of the cast, specifically Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver will all be back, along with director Ivan Reitman.  Rumors persist that the script by “The Office” writers writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg calls for the old team to hand the ghost hunting business over to a new crop of Busters.

Bill Murray as Peter VenkmanHowever, Murray has publicly bashed the comeback and insisted that his character, Peter Venkman, be killed off in the first reel and become a ghost for the remainder of the movie.

In addition to the reunions, Sigourney Weaver’s baby in Ghostbusters II, Oscar, may be a central part of the story.  Now 21 years old, the supposed love child of Dana and Venkman is expected to become a Buster himself, strapping on a proton pack and leading the family business, according to the same report.  Weaver hinted at this possibility last December in the same interview where the ghostly Venkman rumor began.

All this, of course, if the Ghostbusters III sequel ever happens.  There have been very little official developments since Reitman agreed to direct in January 2010. Murray, who (again) is against the sequel, has said it isn’t happening and the whole thing is “hogwash.”

Any suggestions for new Ghostbusters alongside Oscar?

I have heard this movie kills off Peter Venkman. That killed my excitement. Now, I hope there won't be a Ghostbusters 3. :(

These news sites don't know shit, that rumor about Venkman being a ghost has been around since the late 90s, it was just something Bill Murray would say to make people quit asking about GBIII. I also hate that BloodyDisgusting writes this stuff with absolutley no proof or actual confirmation, it's all just a scam to get their website mentioned on others.

I want GBIII to happend and it might, but making stuff up and reporting old news as if it were new isn't helping the process.

I wouldn't have cited them if I felt like B-D was unreliable.
Besides, I said they were rumors in the very first sentence…

haha, I really hope they do make a GB 3 but only if they can get everyone back as in Murray HAS to be in it and I really hope Weaver and a grown up Oscar are also in it! PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!

Bloody-Disgusting Has the Right Information about Ghostbusters 3 because a Source from Columbia Pictures told them that! They always have Right Info. on other movies as well. This Info. from Bloody-Disgusting is True Facts! GB3 will be in Theaters on Christmas Day 2012 and in July 12th 2010 Ernie Hudson said that GB3 is in Pre-Production because Ivan told Ernie that GB3 Gonna Happen and it Finally is Happening!
