A film package is being shopped around that re-teams Oscar mainstay Meryl Streep with Stanley Tucci. Yes! But wait, there’s more. Their partnership would also include “30 Rock” creator and former “SNL” writer/actor Tina Fey.
The LA Times reports Creative Artists Agency is selling Tucci as the director with Streep and Fey playing a mother/daughter pair for the project, tentatively titled Mommy & Me.
Several studios have expressed interest, but Sony is shaping up as the likely candidate given their push into that market with Julia Roberts’ Eat Pray Love.
It’s unclear whether Tucci would also star. He’s worked with Streep on both The Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia, both of which earned her an Oscar nod, and the addition of Fey brings a more comedic element that really makes this an enticing proposal. That’s all we know for now, but I was excited about the possibility so I thought I’d pass it along.
