‘Brooklyn’s Finest’ Super Bowl Commercial

Published by Jeff Leins on February 7, 2010

Overture Films has released the Super Bowl commercial for their crime drama Brooklyn’s Finest.  Directed by Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua, the ensemble includes Don Cheadle as an undercover cop in a drug ring, Richard Gere as an officer during his final days before retirement, and Ethan Hawke as a detective trying to support his family.

It’s also the return of Wesley Snipes from direct-to-video movies and a nasty tax evasion trial. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but has remained free to work while his legal appeal is being considered.

This film originally played the Sundance Film Festival in 2009, but was delayed due to financial problems of its own. The script by Michael C. Martin is excellent though, and I’m looking forward to the movie finally being released next month.

Take a look at the Super Bowl commercial and tell me what you think:

Brooklyn’s Finest is out March 5, 2010.

Just for the record, I work with Bernhoft Law (http://www.bernhoftlaw.com) who served as Snipes' lead trial attorneys during the central Florida federal proceedings. It's important to set the record straight, Wesley Snipes was acquitted of all fraud, felony and tax evasion/conspiracy charges that would've landed him in federal prison for 16 years. Instead, with the Bernhoft firm at his side, he was only dinged on three misdemeanor return filing charges, and is out on bail making Brooklyn's Finest, and other movies, pending his appeal of a three-year sentence.
