Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island took its second consecutive weekend at the domestic box office, drawing an estimated $22.2 million in ticket sales. Presumably strong word of mouth helped the R-rated Paramount release to a $75.1 million total over competition from a new Kevin Smith film and Overture’s genre flick.

Warner Bros may have found their director for the comic book adaptation of “The Flash.” DC Entertainment is moving forward with the speedy superhero and Greg Berlanti is the “leading contender” for the director’s chair, according to the IESB.

The March 16 DVD/Blu-ray release of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (which was excellent, by the way) will feature the first footage from their next non-Pixar project Tangled. The 3D fairy tale was originally titled Rapunzel after its main character, voiced by Mandy Moore, but the Mouse House recently changed the name for unknown reasons.
