Last year I posted a tribute to 2008 titled “The Cinescape” by Matt Shapiro that blew me away. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like Shapiro is editing together a compilation this year, or he hasn’t posted one to his YouTube channel as of this afternoon. There are several montages this year, but the best so far seems to be Kees van Dijkhuizen’s “Cinema 2009: 1 Year, 342 Movies, 12 Months of Production, 7 Minutes.”
It’s the closest anyone has come to including almost every movie released this year and captures many of the beautiful moments in film. There’s a lot of love for Watchmen and Star Trek, but glimpses of just about everything else. It’s worth the watch if only because G.I. Joe is directly before Crazy Heart. What other video offers that combo?
