Actress Brittany Murphy suffered a cardiac arrest and died Sunday morning at the age of 32. The cause of her condition and untimely death is unknown and a police investigation is pending.
A family member called paramedics around 8:00 am from a Los Angeles home with her husband Simon Monjack, and she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:04, according to TMZ.
She played a supporting role in 1995 teen classic Clueless, Sin City, and 8 Mile, as well as voice work for the animated “King of the Hill” and Happy Feet. Murphy was recently fired from horror movie The Caller and replaced by New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre. Her final on screen performance may be a small role in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables.
Former boyfriend Ashton Kutcher tweeted his reaction. “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine,” Kutcher wrote. “My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon.”
