First Poster for Christopher Nolan’s Inception

Much like the months leading up to The Dark Knight, the viral marketing campaign for Christopher Nolan’s super secret summer movie Inception has already started to bear fruit.  Mind fruit!  I don’t know what that means and I have no idea what this movie is about, but it’s Nolan and the teaser trailer was amazing.

Set “within the architecture of the mind,” Leonardo DiCaprio plays a CEO type that becomes entangled in a shady business.  Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, and Ken Watanabe also star.

In August, a website for the film surfaced with just a spinning top.  A few days ago the top on the official website started to wobble.  Today it whirls to a stop after a few seconds, and if you click it you’ll be taken to this setup on yourmindisthesceneofthecrime.com:

Four boxes for the top to spin in. Only one is activated. The other three suggest more to come from this viral game, but for now click the first and be taken to a piece of digital graph paper. You simply drag the box around to create your own maze and click “Play.” Boxes rise into buildings and the maze becomes a city to navigate:

Drag your little character through the maze. Don’t stop to chat with the radiating green, yellow, and red people because they’ll eventually kill you and you’ll have to start over. When you reach the light at the end of the maze, the landscape transforms into a vault door. The combination is entered for you and opens to read an envelope. Hell yes you want to see the assets inside.

Here is the first poster for Inception. If it looks familiar, that’s because the back-turned character is almost exactly like the ones for the Joker two years ago. It’s still a great teaser image though.

Inception is out in IMAX and traditional theaters on July 16, 2010.

it was a spectacular teaser trailer, just brilliantly epic with so little information.
