Images of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Published by Jeff Leins on: November 29th, 2009

Disney may have jumped ship on the Narnia franchise, but 20th Century Fox had no problem picking up the C.S. Lewis series and running with it.  After a lackluster showing for Prince Caspian ($420M worldwide), Fox has their work cut out for them with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  Will it be a kiddie seafaring adventure, or will the studio change affect the tone?  I’m hoping for the latter, but fearing the former with these new images.

Official synopsis: This time around – Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb – find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) and the warrior mouse Reepicheep (Eddie Izzard), they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan’s Country – a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader – can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.

Here are three pictures from the official Facebook page:

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader hits theaters on December 10, 2010.

  • yeah, cool book, but it looks even more overblown than the disappointing caspian.
  • Goats
The setting of the book was not cheerful and happy, based off of theses three photos you can't tell much but they do not appear to be very gloomy.

I love Prince caspian so I hope this will be great but I am worried.
