Adam Sandler to Play Both Jack and Jill

Published by Jeff Leins on: October 28th, 2009

MermanI would have thought making fun of his goofy, broad comedy roles in Funny People would mean the end of family-friendly Adam Sandler, but I guess he gave up making audiences laugh this decade.

Columbia Pictures has signed him for Jack and Jill and he’ll be playing both the male and female parts.  Jill is, of course, his twin sister and the perfect opportunity for Sandler to dress as a woman at the age of 43.  Who’s ready to laugh?

According to Variety, the project was pitched to Happy Madison productions (Sandler’s company and a stinging reminder of when he was funny) by Todd Garner.  You might not know who that is, but he’s the guy that brought Paul Blart: Mall Cop to America.

Unfortunately that’s all the details we have on this laugh riot, but maybe we’ll know a bit more when it starts shooting in early 2010 for a 2011 release.
