Kristen Bell is Aguilera Rival in ‘Burlesque’

Kristen Bell is set to star opposite of Christina Aguilera in the musical drama Burlesque.  The blond babes will play rivals in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club owned by a character being portrayed by Cher.

According to THR, the movie centers on the journey of an ambitious small-town girl (Aguilera) with a big-town voice who finds love and success at the club.  Bell will be Nikki, a “loose cannon” and lead dancer who becomes jealous when Aguilera steals the spotlight.  Cue the sexy singing and dancing.

Twilight actor Cam Gigandet is the male lead.  Stanley Tucci is Aguilera’s manager who helps her rise to stardom.  Shooting on Aguilera’s acting debut starts in early November with a tentative release of Thanksgiving 2010.

I know this movie sounds like a mix of Crossroads and Showgirls, but with Kristen Bell and Christina Aguilera catfighting it may end up being the best movie ever made.  This plus Black Swan’s ballet battle and possible lesbian hook-up between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis may make 2010 a very good year.  Bell makes Burlesque actually worth a look.
