You're right. I'm a little fuzzy on the details because I pieced it together from a few different sources and haven't read the book myself. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see if Blizzard even uses this storyline.

Actually, he doesn't become the Lich King until he merges with Ner'Zhul atop the Frozen Throne, at the very end of the expansion. So until then he is just a regular death knight :P

Deffinetly the best way to start of the Blizzard Film enterprise. Arthas is one of the key foundations to the warcraft franchise. I cant wait to see Invincable (his horse for those of you who dont know). that and Uther. Illidan deffinetly needs his cameo in this. For those of you who have read the book by Christie Golden you would know that for the last half of the book its basically Arthas resurecting Kel'Thuzad and its 7 chapters of battle scenes in diiferent zones as he makes his way to the sunwell. and then from there on his way to the frozen throne to get the rest of his armour before he looses his power. Lots of fight scenes and extensive of at that. So for the purpose of film we might loose some of this lore wich is unfortunite but it some cases understanable. Pictue trying to sit through a full Helms Deep battle in lord of the rings with out any jumps to frodo or any other parts of the story line… alothough awsome my ass would start to hurt and i begin to loose interest. We all have very high hopes for this film. Riami …. you rock man, show us the scourge.

Sounds very promising. I was hoping they'd start with the storyline from Warcraft 1, but the Arthas story is very cool, and this is probably a good place to start – they can always go back and do “prequels”.
