Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser Trailer

New Line Cinema and Warner Bors have released the teaser trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street, a remake of the 1984 horror classic.  Jackie Earle Haley plays Freddy Krueger, shown clearly here before and after the burn scarring.  Music video director Samuel Bayer makes his feature debut for Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay’s production company responsible for several other horror remakes since 2003.

A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.

The April 30, 2010 release is intended as a reboot of the franchise that spawned seven sequels from the Wes Craven original. The teens Krueger terrorizes include: Kyle Gallner (The Haunting in Connecticut), Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga: New Moon), Katie Cassidy (Taken), Rooney Mara (Urban Legend: Bloody Mary), and Thomas Dekker (”Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”).
