Well, it's a film review, not a discussion of the American economic system. So yes, I focused on Michael Moore and his film.

Its bogus because you saw the film and chose to focus on Moore and his overwhelming presence. The best part of your post is:

"He succeeds once again in provoking his audience (good or bad), and hopefully the ensuing debate will develop into a more meaningful discussion. "

But then you don't make any move to begin a meaningful discussion. That's all I was getting at.

You say the review is bogus but then you agree with just about everything I wrote in it.

I think that this review is bogus:
"What’s the point of putting a face to a crisis many Americans faced themselves?"

What Moore is trying to do is get Americans to feel compassion for the rest of the country. We live in a world that has been driven into insurmountable debt by the Federal Reserve (a private bank!), who loans every dollar there is into existence with interest added on. And as a result, The American People are losing homes, losing jobs, and losing their ideals.

What Moore fails at is what he usually fails at: Filmmaking. He almost manages in this film, since the subject matter is so compelling, but he's heavy handed, corny, and smarmy. So fine. Ignore Him.

But pay attention to what's hapening Right This Moment in our country. And isn't it disgusting? Isn't it terrible? Perhaps revolting?

So Revolt.

That's the point here. We need to revolt, not against the government, but against the financial practices and institutions that have brought us to this point.

Here's the basic problem. Americans are idiots - that's why they need cheap stunts, showmanship and semi-idiocy to maybe get them motivated. That's where Moore comes in. I understand where he's coming from, even if I don't like his approach personally.
