MTV scored the world exclusive look at heaven in Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones. Previous pictures gave glimpses of the Earth during the 70’s and the “in between” purgatory world of Susie Salmon, the 14-year-old murder victim played by Saoirse Ronan. This new picture depicts Jackson’s vision of heaven after Susie watches her family search for answers about her death.
Also starring are Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg as her mother and father, Susan Sarandon as her grandmother, and Michael Imperioli as the police detective on the case.
If I get to heaven (I’m hoping for a deathbed confessional), I’d like to think it would be more exciting than a gazebo in a lake and a moon clock. Call me old fashioned, but I’m looking for a few more clouds and angels feeding me McDonald’s french fries while I watch movies all day. Oh, and MTV wouldn’t be there.

The Lovely Bones is scheduled for theaters on December 11, 2009.
