Ben Kingsley Peers Into Your Soul in ‘Persia’ Picture

Yesterday Disney released two posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time featuring the hero (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) and the damsel (played by Gemma Arterton).

Now, via ComingSoon, they’ve released the first official photo of the villainous ruler, Nizam (played by Oscar winner Ben Kingsley).  It looks similar to the spy pic captured on set last year.  You can click to enlarge the poster to much larger proportions and allow Kingsley to peer into your soul, or the bigger picture is included below.

Gyllenhaal plays Dastan, a rogue prince, and Arterton (a Bond girl from Quantum of Solace) is a mysterious princess named Tamina.  Together they have to stop an evil ruler (Kingsley) from acquiring a magic dagger that would allow him to reverse time.  The Jerry Bruckheimer production was directed by Mike Newell.

The recent activity suggests Disney is planning something for San Diego Comic-Con this weekend even though the video game adaptation doesn’t appear anywhere on the official schedule.  The studio has two panels: one for their live-action annoucements and goodies (i.e. Tron) and another for its upcoming animated releases.  Then again, Disney has their own convention, the D23 Expo, this September.
