Michael Moore Unveils New Documentary Title

Published by Jeff Leins on: July 9th, 2009

Capitalism: A Love StoryMichael Moore has officially announced the title for his upcoming documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story.  Overture Films and Paramount Vantage are releasing the film described as “a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans” on October 2, 2009.

In Moore’s typical smug fashion he said this about the film, “It will be the perfect date movie.  It’s got it all — lust, passion, romance, and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day.  It’s a forbidden love, one that dare not speak its name.  Heck, let’s just say it: It’s Capitalism.”

Moore neglected to mention the other love in the doc will be for himself, as he appears in the latest stunt to push his own self-serving, extreme agenda.   Let me guess, we should just do away with capitalism?  Enough already with the “America needs drastic change” garbage.  At least it fits with what his critics have been saying for years: Michael Moore’s a communist.

The film will focus on the $700 billion bailout approved by the government in 2008, the global economic meltdown, and the impact of “out-of-control profit motives on the lives of Americans and citizens of the world.”  It probably won’t be a detailed look at our culture like his first few films.  Instead it will likely be a series of mock-baffled exchanges with Wall Street types and chats with average people “swindled” by the government.  In case you haven’t seen the pompous teaser trailer titled “Save the CEOs,” watch it here.

Moore has made three of the top six financially-successful documentaries in history.  I’m sure he loved capitalism when he was making millions off of those…  How ironic that his latest film is about wasting money.
