Last night Paramount released the new teaser trailer for The Last Airbender on Entertainment Tonight. Since that show has a bit of a problem with their hosts talking over the footage, I waited until the official version hit today. The video is just over a minute and gives merely a glimpse at what the studio hopes to be a trilogy from director M. Night Shyamalan.
Unfortunately, Shyamalan’s last production might have been arguably the worst movie of the decade, so there have been issues getting fans to buy into his writing and directing duties on the beloved TV series adaptation. Aside from his rapidly declining track record, the casting lacks certain Asian elements that make his version less than faithful.
Watch the video below and let me know what you think. Reactions everywhere have been mixed, but until we see something of substance I doubt we’ll get much an idea what to expect from this short teaser.
The Last Airbender debuts July 2, 2010.
