Pixar is known for adding to their hit animated films little “easter eggs,” or tiny inside jokes hidden in the pixels for fans who look extra close. This list of crossovers is a perfect example of how detail-oriented the studio is when creating a classic. For example, Nemo made an appearance in Monsters Inc. two years before the fish got his own feature.
In a discussion with Up director Pete Docter, MTV learned there is a similar cameo in the Cannes Film Festival opener (to standing ovations, no less) and the film’s release later this month. The quick glimpse is actually included in Up’s Super Bowl commercial, which briefly shows a new toy for Toy Story 3 (due in theaters June 2010).
A producer on the film, Joan Rivera, gave a few more hints to make it easier. “There’s a shot where a little girl is in her room and the house goes by. She’s playing with her toys. She’s playing with her little plane. She gets up, and she looks [out the window] – under her bed is one of the new stars of Toy Story 3.”
Thanks to MTV’s crack investigation squad, here’s a picture of the scene she’s talking about with a blown up image of the new toy:

The third toy movie also features a Ken doll (Barbie’s boyfriend) rumored to have the voice of Michael Keaton.
