First Official Look: Iron Man 2

Almost a year from today, Iron Man 2 will smash into theaters and kick off the summer of 2010.  USA Today has the first official picture from the sequel starring Robert Downey Jr. checking out some high tech schematics.  In the background are the Mark 1 through 4 Iron Man suits.

Filming is still underway under the direction of Jon Favreau and the cast includes RDJ, Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, and Samuel L. Jackson.  Favreau told USA Today he hopes to keep story details secret, though he acknowledges the difficulty for such a high profile project.  He did confirm the story picks up six months after Tony Stark reveals himself to the public as Iron Man.  “It obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore,” said Favreau.

Get excited because there’s much more to come before next summer.
