Universal has released an official poster for Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen’s follow-up to the hit docu-comedy Borat. The tagline in the clouds hilariously reads, “Borat was so 2006.”
I’m surprised the poster didn’t go with something a little more outrageous considering how much this character pushes the boundaries. Perhaps this is the first of many since the trend right now is to release 57 posters for one movie. Plus after wrestling with the MPAA to turn an NC-17 into an R rating, maybe Universal wanted to submit something a little safer. Is he dressed in a gay farmer outfit to attract middle America?
