Production for the Iron Man sequel is underway this week and already pictures from the set are making their way onto the web. Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Robert Downey Jr., Sam Rockwell, and director Jon Favreau have all been spotted by spy cameras making their way from their trailers.
For pictures of them walking and riding in a car, go here. They’re about as exciting as they sound though.
According to more pictures, Garry Shandling has been added to the cast of Iron Man 2.
Seen here in a picture from Pacific Coast News, the comic actor was present for the first day of shooting yesterday. He will play the character “Senator Stern” in the movie. You’re welcome to click and enlarge that bad boy, but I have to warn you: it may induce yawning.
There were also rumors flying this morning that Gary Oldman had been seen on set too, sparking speculation about his secret role in the film. Unfortunately the rumors are very false. Oldman’s manager Douglas Urbanski confirmed the actor has not visited the set and is not involved with the movie in any way.
Tim Robbins has also shot down rumors that he will be in the film. Previous reports had said the Oscar-winner might play Tony Stark’s father and the founder of the billion dollar company Stark Industries. Robbins hasn’t joined the all-star cast though.
Iron Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 7, 2010.
