The final minutes are ticking down from the Doomsday clock in preparation for Zack Snyder’s latest graphic novel adaptation, Watchmen. Snyder isn’t wasting any time getting his next project up and running though. While production rolls on his animated owl movie, Guardians of Ga’Hoole, he’s found the all-female cast for his next directorial venture, Sucker Punch.
Here is the all-female line-up:

From left to right: Amanda Seyfried, Evan Rachel Wood, Emma Stone, Abbie Cornish, and Vanessa Hudgens
Snyder once described it as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.” The $100 million project takes place in the 1950s and tells the story of Baby Doll (Seyfried) confined to a mental institution by her evil step-father. Before her pending lobotomy, she imagines and alternate reality to escape her pain. Hudgens (”Blondie”), Cornish (”Sweet Pea”), Wood (”Rocket”), and Stone (”Amber”) are her fellow inmates that travel to the fantasy world.
When you make a lot of money for a studio (in this case Warner Bros) twice in a row, they sort of give you free reign to make something a bit more out there. Plus it helps with casting the best and brightest young female talent out there. He’s done a movie where guys kill stuff, now he’s going to do one where women kick ass.
Sucker Punch starts shooting in the fall with a release date already set for October 8, 2010.
