Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’ Teaser Trailer

Published by Jeff Leins on February 11, 2009

The official teaser trailer for Inglourious Basterds, the next movie from Quentin Tarantino, has made its way onto the Internet via Yahoo! The footage premiered last night on Entertainment Tonight, but there was unnecessary voice over and annoying graphics.  Plus the only version I could find was a shaky hand-held camera shot where someone video taped their TV.

The trailer is especially cool because Tarantino has been saying he was going to make this movie since 2001, before he eventually went on to make Kill Bill and Grindhouse instead.  Finally he’s condensed the once 222 page script to a filmmable screenplay, only for it to be condensed again into a two minute teaser.

In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.

Watch the trailer below and don’t forget you can watch it in HD at Yahoo!

Inglourious Basterds is out August 21, 2009. Tarantino also promised to screen it at Cannes Film Festival in May.
