Paramount Pictures has already released its 30-second Super Bowl spot for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. Check out the high-definition trailer at ComingSoon.net.
Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing) directed the movie starring Dennis Quaid (General Hawk), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Cobra Commander), Channing Tatum (Duke), Sienna Miller (Baronness), and Marlon Wayans (Ripcord).
The trailer isn’t half as bad as I thought it was going to be. Plenty of explosions and special effects with some cheesy voice over. Nothing we haven’t seen in a Transformers spot. I doubt it will win anyone over that thinks this looks lame, but it will get a lot of “What? Really? A G.I. Joe movie?” comments during the game tomorrow, which is mostly what they’re shooting for with the commercial.
Tell me what you think below.
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra will be out August 7, 2009.
Also, a slew of official character sheets were released on Hisstank.com.
