Hilary Duff is set to star in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde along with Kevin Zegers.
Tonya S. Holly is directing from her own script, which claims to be a different take rather than a redo of the 1967 classic starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. Duff will play Bonnie Parker and Zegers has agreed to play Clyde Barrow.
Most other blogs have been making a big deal about Hilary Duff in an almost remake somehow tarnishing their memories of a classic film. But what seems to be ignored is her co-star in the new indie film, Kevin Zegers. He is the star of four movies in the Air Bud series, where a dog is capable of shooting free throws, catching passes, kicking a soccer ball, and hitting a baseball.
Now I’m not saying you should completely ignore Hilary “Lizzie McGuire” Duff. But when you’re dealing with an actor of this caliber like Zegers, it’s difficult not to focus on the raw cinematic power that comes from a man of his experience. I think we can all agree that if there was a Hollywood Hall of Fame, Air Bud would be a first ballot inductee. Prop that baby right up next to Casablanca for all to admire. If you’re still upset, maybe you haven’t seen Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch. A classic above Bonnie and Clyde for sure. Watch it. I’ll bet you my autographed copy of Air Bud: World Pup you won’t be disappointed.
