The Halcyon Company and director McG have already started preliminary work on a fifth Terminator movie even while Terminator Salvation is still in post-production.
The new studio’s producers confirmed to Variety a second installment in the proposed trilogy is already underway with McG at the helm again. Christian Bale has already signed as John Connor for all three films, so another movie doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
The strange thing is the timing. T4 isn’t even in the can yet for May 22, 2009 and they’re already scouting locations for another one scheduled for 2011 (presumably summer). Early reactions from fans and the media about the footage have given them enough confidence to get the ball rolling.
Well, since no one has seen Terminator Salvation, it’s pretty hard to comment on the creation of another movie. Let’s hope it doesn’t have diminishing returns like the TV version, “The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”
