Paul McCartney in Shrek 4?

Published by Jeff Leins on: November 19th, 2008

There are rumors flying that Sir Paul McCartney will lend his voice to a character in the upcoming Shrek Goes Fourth.  He may also contribute to the film’s soundtrack.

The Sun is reporting Paul “Macca” McCartney has signed for a role in the animated Disney movie.  A source said: “The Shrek films have a proud tradition of getting great names and Macca is the best yet.” But we all know how reliable The Sun is for hard news.  This is the same periodical that is currently running a story on its front page about Hitler only having one ball.

What about the Daily Express?  They’re saying Disney is talking with him about contributing songs and a possible speaking role.

A Hollywood film source said: “Paul has been discussing working on the next Shrek. Live And Let Die was sung in the last movie at Shrek’s father-in-law’s funeral and was one of the funniest moments.  Producers want Paul to compose some original tunes for the next one. He could even briefly voice a character. There have been meetings and apparently he’s very keen, because his daughter is a fan.”

What do you think?  Does Paul McCartney’s voice make you interested to see a fourth Shrek?
