Earlier this month Fox turned the Voltron movie over to Relativity Media, who had plans on making it on a more moderate budget. It seems they’re cutting costs on a director too.
LatinoReview has the exclusive on who the director will be for Voltron. It’ll be… wait for it… Max Makowski.
Who? Exactly. His biggest career credit so far is that he directed a couple of episodes of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” Not exactly the special effects guru you’d hope would take on a project like this. His other notable credit was One Last Dance, a 2005 film that got him a lot of attention out of Sundance.
Though, to be fair, Zack Snyder was a relatively unknown director before he made 300, a movie that is constantly referenced now for these low-budget green-screeners.
That doesn’t give me or many other fans confidence in this Makowski guy though.
What do you think? Good? Bad? Too early to tell? Voltron?
