Steve Carell and Tina Fey Hook Up

Steve Carell and Tiny Fey will play a married couple in the upcoming comedy Date Night for Fox.

The Variety story is pretty vague on the plot, saying only it “follows a couple who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie.”  I can almost see the advertising hamsters at work now.  “How can we sell this movie?  Hmm…”  (Sorry, I’ve been watching too much “Mad Men”)

Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) will direct and Josh Klausner (Shrek 3 and 4) wrote the script.  While these two names don’t instill any sort of confidence in rational adults, the two hilarious actors together should be worth checking out.

If only Fey and Carell were married in real life.  Think of the hilarious offspring they could create.  They would be breeding super kids with uber humor skills capable of killing a man with laughter.  But we’d have to harness their powers quickly because they could easily turn to evil.  Everyone is vulnerable because we all have a sense of humor.  Except for maybe Ben Stein.
