Naomi Watts in ‘Harry Potter 6?’

Update: Representatives of Watts have denied claims that she has been cast. Please disregard the ramblings below.

Talented actress and all around sexy lady Naomi Watts has signed on for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. She will play Narcissa Malfoy in the story. No word on whether she will fill the role in the seventh film also.

This does not technically break J.K. Rowling’s strict “only British actors” policy for the movies, since Watts was technically born in England before moving to Australia at the age of 14.

The Harry Potter series has had a pretty solid list of supporting cast members, including Gary Oldman, Ralph Fiennes and Emma Thompson. I’m a little surprised Naomi Watts has been added, but overall ready to see how she fits in.

Most men will always remember her for the scene in Mulholland Dr. where she um… shared a bed with Laura Harring. I wonder if she’ll be naked in this movie…

She’s in a bunch of upcoming projects, including a remake of The Birds. Filming begins on Harry Potter 6 in September.
